I have just stabbed my hand with a steak knife. There's a visible slice into the flesh but curiously, there is absolutely no blood.

Does this mean I am a robot?

I'm sitting here contemplating whether to go to A&E as I've sliced my finger open with some scissors trying to cut some gaffa tape.

I think it's a bit too minor to bother them and I'd have to drive myself one-handed, but it's bleeding just enough when I take the pressure off to make me worry that I might need a stitch or two.

To be honest though, I'd rather just go to bed.

ETA: Bleeding stopped. Bed wins.

Oops.

I didn’t mean to let the cobwebs build up and not post for so long. It’s not like I haven’t been around or made posts elsewhere, but I think I sometimes forget that [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends is not my home journal because that’s where the action is (or definitely has been of late).

Not that life has been terribly exciting, there's not a lot I can do with my bad knee (have I mentioned that here before?). Halloween was busy with parties, but not a lot else has happened.

However, The Raven Banner, Black Widow and Kiss Chase(!) were nominated for things at the SunnyD Awards, so thank you whomever it was that did that, it's been an eternity since I was nominated for anything! ETA: Actually, you can vote there now.

What else was there? Um. A bit of fic, a bit of Barbie nonsense. I'll leave those for another post, else it'll be another month before I post again!

Ooh, how about Christmas? Who wants a handmade Christmas card, handmade by me? Comments are screened if you want to leave an address.

The Good

The trip into London yesterday went textbook perfect, despite all the protests close to the Royal Albert Hall. In fact I didn't see a single protester the whole time. I was thinking I should have joined the protest, but as I didn't know about it until the day before, it wasn't very practical with my pre-paid parking and my cranky knee.

Editors were great though! I definitely want to see them again. This was all boosted by my unbelievably awesome seat about 3 metres away from the stage (unbelievable because I bought it well over halfway through the sale and even the people next to me were a bit surprised by how close it was - they went and checked the back of the hall to check they were in the right place! The only way I could have been closer would have been if I'd been in the row in front. Wow). That's eye-contact with the bassist distance (not that I really wanted that...). Anyway, great band, great gig, great night out.

And because more people need to experience the awesomeness (film not taken by me btw, I was much nearer than that!):

That's enough squee. Normal service will now resume.

The Bad

It's been awhile, but personal injury never stays a away from me for long. Knackered this morning after the late night, the cat standing on my head at 4am and the clocks going forward, I managed to scrape my arm along the spout of the just boiled kettle. Thus hours of icing my arm and the resulting owness that is still owing me now. :(

ETA: Blisters! Eek!

Ow!

I have hurt my back in a freak Cluedo accident. The lead piping was not involved.

Plus I dropped a shelf on my foot.

All in another Sunday.

I've been sent home!

Not because of the snow (although the majority of the company have been). No, I'm home on the First Aiders advice.

Yep, you guessed it, I'm injured again! Took an impressive dive in the staff car park and now I've got a nice pulled muscle in my hip. Great.

The snow is very pretty though, so I'll let it off.

Have burnt myself again. Chest and two fingers of the right hand while curing my wok. Of course, it's the typing/icon-making hand.

I am currently in agony.

Took my mum on a tour of Oxford today replete with open top bus (which was effing cold in biting wind). As we left a big bookshop I had this muscular spasm in my shoulder that was so painful I could barely move (sadly not due to the weight of any books I could've bought!).

I've been in pain ever since. Try driving with a spasming shoulder.
