Who would buy a power station snowglobe with simulated pollution (nuclear fallout?).

If it was cheaper, it might have been me.

ETA: There are only 5 left. Get your order in now!

Thanks to whomever it was that nominated Sucker for the SunnyD and Wicked awards. Someone appreciates a little tentacle tickle.

I have also committed memery:

You Are a Creative

Like everyone else, you have a to-do list... but you don't always prioritize getting around to it.
You are productive as your spirit moves you to be. Sometimes this means crossing off a lot of items on your list, but other times it means doing something else entirely.

You do best when inspiration strikes, and it's hard to predict when that will be. You thrive with flexibility.
Interruptions tend to distract you, but sometimes they are a welcome distraction. You do best when you focus on short term goals.

Ha ha ha ha ha. That is so true.

More CD reviews of CD in my collection that I haven't listened to properly.

To amuse myself (and to have something to post, even though I doubt anyone besides [livejournal.com profile] quinara will actually be interested and even then) I have decided to try and get more value out of my CD collection by listening to and reviewing all those CDs I have that are just languishing there unplayed and unloved; who knows there may be some hidden gems just waiting for me to be bothered to find them! After all Spotify managed to get me to engage with a couple of Echo & the Bunnymen albums I didn’t get into the first time round (I missed out on some great songs, what was I doing????), so it could work!

Some words of caution. As my collection leans heavily into Rock/Alternative/Indie these reviews will obviously cover these genres, but there may still be some tentative forays into others. There might also be some embarrassing surprises that will erode my cool a bit (though not as many as there would have been if I had been reviewing my vinyl...). :)

I will try and review a fairly well known* album (er…when I can) and one less so each time. I am not going to review albums I like/liked and know well, nor will I include soundtracks, compilations, greatest hits and live albums (not that I am much of a fan of those). I will also horrifically date myself.

* 'Well known' is a relative term, of course.

Here we go.

It's a dark and stormy night and I'm watching dodgy French vampire films in the dark on my own. The thunder, lighting and pounding rain are adding a wonderful level of seasonal creep!

In other seasonal news, I have been inspired by [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003 to make some decorations for my Halloween tree, which now sports a lovely collection of tortured souls (and some pumpkins). They came out much better than I thought, so as I'm rather pleased with them here you go (and yes, the tree is on my work desk):

I'm actually quite excited about the Olympic opening ceremony!

Anyone want to join me for a virtual comment party? All nationalities welcome!

Grab a drink and mingle! Snark welcome! Moaning possibly not.

Back to this nonsense. I have several of these to post.

First up[livejournal.com profile] hesadevil wanted Angel and Spike's fight from Destiny.

I found this a bit tricky, to be honest. The scene is very dark and there's no one 'iconic' pose with both of them, so I've gone for a sort of mash up of the events.

Pic under the cut... )

[livejournal.com profile] liliaeth asked for the Buffy/Spike scene from Beneath You.

Follow me... )

You can still request a scene here. Non-Buffy requests totally encouraged! TVD anyone? SPN? Don't let me waste tiny Damon and Dean's leather jacket! Pretty please?

Staycation

So, I had a week off work. I was meant to go to Bath with my mum, but my dodgy knee basically scuppered that. So a staycation it was.

Was it productive? Not really. But I did go shopping, re-watched a season and a half of Roswell, finally had the doctors appointment for the dodgy knee (it only took two months of agony - I'm that good at procrastinating), was referred for physiotherapy and bought a fridge (hence tomorrow is an extra day off for me! Maybe I will get all the writing I had planned done...).

Also, on Saturday I attended the St Albans Crown Court Open Day. Whoo. I couldn't take any pictures, but I can now say I have been in a prison van and in court and in a cell block. Without the messy getting arrested part. it's a shame the mock court case was a sentencing for a minor drinking driving charge and not a juicy murder, but you can't have everything.

In the absence of having else to say (nothing’s happened here, except the death of my parent’s cat), I thought I might reveal a little sneak peak of something I’ve been working on and maybe ask you all to set me a challenge to fill the time before anything decent is back on the telly.

About a year ago I had the sudden urge to recreate Black Widow as a ‘live’ action comic using Barbie, Ken, CY, Sindy Numan™ and other similar dolls. I got the script done, created all the panels, bought in props as needed (mucho £££), built sets, started the photography, then it kind of stalled for various reasons (lighting issues (a bulb on the fairy lights went and I can’t be arsed to look through the Christmas dec boxes for a replacement), ‘flooring’ and working out how to build something that looked vaguely like a dumpster…).

For anyone familiar with the story, here’s a sample panel from the project:Snip! )

Anyway, I need to get the project finished and I need some motivation, so this is where the 'challenge me' bit comes in.

Give me a moment from the following and I will try to 'recreate it' in Barbie for a laugh*:

Buffy
Angel
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
Lost
Dark Angel
Roswell
Dead Like Me
Anything films etc that I've seen that don't have armour in them ETA: or period costume.

Plus!

I might be open to having a crack at:

Doctor Who (if I can have a screencap)
Scenes from fics (please supply link)

*bearing in mind the limitations of Barbie and her chums, i.e. most aren’t that bendy, monsters are tricky (though I think I could do Lorne and Illyria) and older people don’t seem to exist. I do at least have a number of male dolls (plus a Spike). I will otherwise have to work with what I have.

They really do make everything a doll might need, don't they?

.
bogwitch: (SPN - Dean Driving)
One of the reasons I don't post as often as I should is that while I'll write it all out, I just can't be bothered to type it all into Word. I type all day, I want a rest!

After all the fuss I made about Ashes to Ashes, I thought I really should have posted my thoughts by now and maybe add something about Supernatural and Roswell (which I watched all three seasons of for the first time over 8 days last week), but all the typing was a bit daunting.

So I had a brainwave.

(the Roswell part didn't make the cut as I wasn't really saying very much and I doubt anyone is actually interested. Most of my thoughts on that I ended up saying in the comments to my last post anyway)

See if you can read my writing...  )

In writing news, a chapter of the WIP is imminent. I was considering taking some multi-fandom fic prompts too, but I'm not sure I'm that daring.
